VicYouth recently sent a group of young leaders to the CHOSEN conference in Brisbane. For a week of workshops, networking, learning, and growth.
Youth from across Australia are selected to attend this conference for their leadership potential, and desire to know Jesus.
One of our teen mentors, Zion Meleisea reflected:
CHOSEN was not just another event. It was a sacred reminder of what it means to be called by God. I had the privilege of mentoring 10 incredible teens from Victoria. What I witnessed throughout the week was transformation. Young people wrestling with faith, opening their hearts in worship, and discovering that their story has a place in God’s bigger story.
The most powerful part for me was realising that these grassroots moments praying together, crying together, and finding courage together are the seeds of renewal in our church. It reminded me that the next generation is not waiting to lead tomorrow. They are already leading now through their passion, their questions, and their surrender.
The future is not just looking bright. It is already breaking through.

It was such an incredible experience as a whole and it was so impactful to see a group of teens so on fire for God! A stand out moment for me was watching everyone come together in actively worshiping and praising God from the very first night of the week.
Throughout Chosen it was so special to get to see the intentionality of each leader and participant in actively choosing to get to know one another, and be present in each activity and opportunity presented to them. As the week progressed it was very moving to see each participant grow both in their faith and their ability to step into spaces of leadership when empowered by those around them!
At VicYouth, we’re excited to see the next generation of leaders being recognised by their local churches and communities. We can’t wait to see where God leads and guides these terrific young people.
