Youth Rush (YR) is a canvassing program that gives young people the opportunity to share their faith at the doors of hundreds of homes through spiritual conversations, prayer and literature in the forms of books, tracts and flyers.
The beginning of July marked the sixth Victorian YR program and it was held in the city of Bairnsdale and surrounding towns. The faith and resilience of every canvasser on our team, new and experienced alike, was lifted to fresh heights as we witnessed God working through undeniable divine appointments. Yes we received generous donations, but more significantly, through cooperation with the Holy Spirit, we strengthened the disheartened, encouraged the backsliding, comforted the grieving, challenged the wayward, opened minds closed off to God, prayed for the sick, offered answers to the enquiring and connected ready souls with the local church.
A unique highlight that revealed the fruit of this work was when a young man of the Pentecostal faith – whose house was canvassed by a power pair on our team, joined us canvassing because he was impressed at how boldly we were serving God and positively impacting his community. All glory to God!! We invited all to look up and we left hope and peace in each home. In the words of my co-leader Jeremiah Aiono: “At Youth Rush, we’re building more than skills. We’re building character, family, faith, understanding, and a life of prayer. When you join Youth Rush you never leave the same!”
The YR family is keen to serve Jesus and reveal His matchless love to precious souls with you on the next Youth Rush program! The promise of Acts 18:9, 10 and the following question now lie with you … will you knock on some doors for your Lord?
