Pathfinder Expedition 2026

Pathfinder Expedition 2026

Endurance

Expedition provides a unique opportunity for Victorian Pathfinders to experience the outdoors in a way that can challenge both the mind and the physical body.

By combining the difficulties of both hiking and orienteering, over 600 Pathfinders took on the 2026 “Endurance” challenge. The younger age groups focus on learning the basics and principles of navigation, while the seniors are encouraged to challenge their skills in overnight hikes. The weekend is also packed with worship programs and spirituality in line with our theme this year of “Endurance.”

One of our Pathfinders wrote this in reflection:

“Expedition 2026 in Rushworth, Victoria, was such an amazing and rewarding experience that I will always remember.

We were blessed with great weather throughout the weekend. Although the mornings were quite cold and chilly, the sun always came through, and I thank God for His protection and blessings during expedition.

One of my favourite parts of the weekend was taking part in praise and worship. The Pathfinders from my club loved singing choruses and always had a smile on their face even when they were tired, which made the experience even more special.

I enjoyed singing, leading worship, and helping create an atmosphere where everyone could connect with God. It was a privilege to use my gifts to support others, contribute to my club, and honour God through my service.

As a Master Guide, my role was very different from previous years when I was a Pathfinder. I was given more responsibility, including helping to care for the younger Pathfinders and leading out on the Level 2 hiking group. Leading the Level 2s through their hike using maps and compasses was both challenging, tiring, and rewarding, and it helped me develop my leadership skills and confidence.

Overall, Expedition 2026 was a fulfilling experience filled with fellowship, service, leadership, and personal growth.

This experience taught me the importance of servant leadership, patience, and relying on God when faced with challenges. It has encouraged me to continue developing my leadership skills and be a positive role model for younger Pathfinders.”
